„Parodos“ prakalbina buvusį kalėjimo direktoriaus kabinetą ir kelias gretimas patalpas. Šalia vizičių Jėzaus širdies bažnyčios, vienuolyno dalis paversta kalėjimu, o vėliau apleista atgyja šnabždėdama netoliese kalinčių ir anksčiau kalėjusių žmonių istorijas, svajones ir skaudulius. Čia liko sudžiuvusios nebelaistomos kambarinės gėlės, elgesį sausai apibūdinantys dokumentai, lovos klojimo taisyklės, sienose įtaisytos spintos. Menininkė iš Linco Anja Westerfrölke instaliavo erdvę bažnyčioje ir vienuolyne rastais daiktais, sukūrė nebuvimą apmąstančius objektus, į ekspoziciją įtraukė meninių dirbtuvių su kaliniais ir jų artimaisiais kūrinius. Objektų ir meninės veiklos užuominos neria prasmių tinklą siūlantį išgyventi ir patirti daugialypius istorijos sluoksnius tyliai ir nematomai tūnančius pačiame Vilniaus miesto centre.

Features found objects on site incorporated in display cabinets, media and visuals by the artist in the context of the project "ONSITE in Vilnius" and artistic work by prison inmates from Linz and Vilnius.

"CLOISTERED NUNS TODAY : TIMELESS MODEL, SINGULAR INSTANCE"

by Dr. Anne-Dolorès Marcélis, author of "Cloistered women in contemporary times. Lives and stories of Carmelite nuns and Clarisses in Namurois, 1837-2000"

Anne-Dolorès Marcélis confronts the monastic model's radical system with the particular collective and individual women stories, focusing on three axis : recruitement and vocation; sources of income; relations with the male ecclesiastical hierarchy.

Anne-Dolorès Marcélis (°1970), historian researcher and dancer, has a PhD in Philosophy and Arts (History) from Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium (2004). Since 2006, her work has been focussed more on social history, in particular the history of the social body and the relationship between dance and industrial societies. She continues to study the monastic communities and their links with Social Security since 1945. She works currently at CARHOP, a center for social history (Centre d'Animation en Histoire Ouvrière et Populaire) in Brussels, Belgium.

Spotlights secured the former prison, marking the inside and outside, where individual human stories are significant for society. Light installation along the prison wall, gate and watchtower, people walking and talking.

Prožektoriai saugoję buvusį kalėjimą - ženklina vidų ir išorę, kur individualių žmonių istorijos yra reikšmingos visuomenei. Šviesos instaliacija, kurioje yra kalėjimo siena, vartai ir stebėjimo bokštas, vaikščiojantys ir kalbantys žmonės.

Installation and performance 19-21/9/2008 from 18:00 to 20:00

The theme is politics of location, the place of women in the 'city', the recognition of their needs, the strength of their words. The space created by the installation (text & textile) is about the absence
of solid ground for them as well as 'empowerment'.

A thin quavering textile layer - too fragile to be stepped on - is stretched in the empty space of the
former basins for a cooling systems of early big computers. Objects - office furniture, desk, chair, used computer - hang on rope/wire stretched between the trees. Space is provided for women to express themselves, read texts, etc.
